There are a lot of fancy, high-minded words we could put on this page about how “honor” matters so much to us, and about how important our level of ethics is, and they would all be true. We have decades of history to prove it. However, we won’t do that. What matters to you the most is whether or not we can be trusted to stand behind our work, and if so, how do we do that.
American Marketing Solutions is proud to stand behind our work with a rock-solid iron-clad guarantee. Here it is, short & sweet:
“If it doesn’t happen the way we say it will happen, and in the time we say it will happen, then we work for free until it does.”
And since 1989, we’ve never had to back that up, because we just get results. It’s that simple.
More Details About Our Guarantee
So how can we possibly put out such a guarantee? Are we being charitable? Are we being philanthropic?
None of the above.
American Marketing Solutions and our owner, Rick Upshaw, have been involved in online marketing & lead generation since 1989. During that time, we’ve seen it all. We’ve certainly been around the block more than once, especially when it comes to working with the search engines. We’ve been doing this since before Google had ads! We’ve watched the search engines and social media sites morph into tiny little websites into the giants they are today. Through the years, we’ve tested and retested what works and what doesn’t, and then tested all over again through all of the changes each venue has made. So, we’ve worked on enough projects for enough people over the years (as well as on our own internal projects) that we just know what works and what doesn’t.
If we don’t know, or we aren’t reasonably sure what the results will be on your project, we’ll tell you so. We will then decide together if working together on your project is a good fit. Most of the time, though, it’s likely we will have worked on a project similar to yours in the past, so we’ll be reasonably sure of what to expect on your project.
Frequently Asked Questions About The AMS Guarantee
We also cover these questions in the Frequently Asked Questions page of our Resources section, but we thought it would be appropriate to also answer a couple of the most frequently asked questions about our guarantee here.
How Is The AMS Guarantee Measured? What Metrics Are Used?
How we measure our results and then stand behind our work depends on the type of project, which varies from client to client.
On some projects, our clients are strictly concerned about placement on the search engines. In such cases, to some degree, we can base our guarantee on the number of front page listings we achieve for our clients’ projects. However, since we don’t own any of the search engines, even a company as experienced as ours can’t 100% guarantee such results (and neither can any other company, no matter what they tell you).
With the above being the case, most of the time our guarantee is going to be measured by the number of leads we produce. In still other cases, it will be ROI-based. When you speak to one of our consultants be sure to let them know what metrics are important to you.
Is Your Guarantee A Money-Back Guarantee?
No. Here’s why:
At the end of the day, we don’t own any of the search engines or social media sites. We can offer advice and develop strategies on where we think your project will gain the maximum “bang for the buck”, and we can tell you what we think we can achieve based on our extensive experience on projects similar to yours. However, once we agree to pull the trigger on your project, and on what metrics we will use to define success on your project, the best we can do is to base our guarantee on what we think is possible for your project, and then stand behind continued work for free if success isn’t achieved in our estimated time free.
Additionally, there are hard costs involved in doing what we do using our proprietary techniques and methodology. If we invested the time and resources into projects (often several months’ worth) only to give all of the money back due to circumstances out of our control, we would go out of business. Either we would simply run out of money to continue to fund our business, or we would have to charge so much money that no one would want to hire us!
Once you have decided what success looks like to you, and therefore what metrics you would like to use to define “success”, speak with your AMS consultant frankly about your marketing objectives, including what you’d like the metrics for your project to look like. If we can do it, we will. If it’s not a good fit for us OR for you, we won’t.
