So How Did That Happen?
Well, there is a lot of information available about the criteria, etc. on Feedage.com. However, we’ll try to give you the shorter version here.
Basically, the grading system from Feedage.com is designed to give you, the reader, an idea of the level of quality of the RSS Feed. The higher the grade, the more informed Feedage.com feels you will be as a result of subscribing to the feed.
According to the Feedage.com website:
“The Feedage RSS Feed Grading System (Feedage FGS) is designed to help subscribers to find higher quality RSS Feeds. Feedage FGS looks at many different aspects of the RSS Feed and assigns a score to the Feed. Each aspect is individually graded, weighted and summed to create an overall score. These scores are updated frequently as the RSS Feed source is always changing. The scoring model is based on historical usage data from the Feedage database. By studying the most subscribed and highest user rated feeds we created models to grade against.”
In general, we know that an RSS Feed that scores well anywhere on any site would have more or less the right amount of words per post (not too wordy nor is it not wordy enough), the feed is updated regularly and appears to have some “history” to it, and appears to be relevant to the subject it claims to be about.
